About the role

We’re looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Auto, to join our growing Customer Service Centre (CSC) team!

This is a 12 month secondment/contract opportunity.
What you’ll do here:

  • Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
  • Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
  • Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims
  • Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
  • Help us implement initiatives to support meeting our departments goals
  • Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
  • Participate recruitment and hiring of your team


What you bring to the table:

  • At least 3 years experience in claims handling
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Strong technical skills in automobile claims – experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
  • Ongoing commitment to self-development
  • Previous claims handling experience in the automobile damage field (preferred) 
  • Workforce management and experience in a contact centre environment would be an asset
  • Bilingual English and French is considered an asset
