About the role
We’re looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Auto, to join our growing CSC team!
What you’ll do here:
- Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
- Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims
- Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
- Help us implement initiatives to support meeting our departments goals
- Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
- Participate recruitment and hiring of your team
What you bring to the table:
- At least 3 years experience in claims handling
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- Leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Strong technical skills in automobile claims – experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
- Ongoing commitment to self-development
- Previous claims handling experience in the automobile damage field (preferred)
- Workforce management and experience in a contact centre environment would be an asset
- Bilingual English and French is considered an asset
