About Us:
The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society is a non-profit charitable organization that works to support and empower survivors of Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Assault. We are a feminist organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence, providing support services, and advocating for survivors who move through the court system in the Central Okanagan Valley. We achieve this purpose through prevention and intervention services in collaboration with community partners.

About the Role:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Community-Based Victim Service Caseworker in Kelowna, BC. The Community-Based Victim Service Caseworker will help support victims of gender-based violence by providing social service work, case management, and casework services. The Community-Based Victim Service Caseworker will also communicate with community partners to provide comprehensive services to victims.
Further, the Victim Service Worker will provide victims with general information including, but not limited to: the justice system; relevant federal and provincial legislation and programs pertaining to victims of crime; crime prevention; safety planning; and community, government, justice, health, or other resources available.
Position: 35 hours a week, Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30
Compensation:$27.00 per hour

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in psychology, social work, sociology, criminology or related field of study
- 1 year experience working in social services, preferably with victims of gender-based violence
- 1 year case management experience
Job Skills & Abilities
- Understands the dynamics of intimate partner violence and sexual violence
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive understanding of Trauma Informed Practice
- Good time management skills including the ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively with participants, program team and other community professionals
- Good time management skills including the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of community resources and services
- Understanding of the Criminal Justice System and Victim Services Programs is an asset
