The City of Mission is seeking an energetic, friendly and welcoming individual to connect with and provide information and advice to local residents and visitors to Mission at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC). The Visitor Services Clerk will run the day-to-day operation of the VIC ensuring the office is represented to the public in a pleasing, organized and professional manner.
Reporting to the Manager of Tourism, you will be responsible for responding to public inquiries and providing tourism information and advice. You will also be responsible for tourism marketing campaigns, the management of social media and website accounts, prepare desk-top publishing documents and organize and attend trade shows or off-site public events.
Qualifications
You will have sound knowledge of tourism, sales and marketing principles and practices and be knowledgeable about local, regional and provincial tourism products. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and telephone) along with the ability to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions with minimal supervision. You will have a diploma in tourism management, marketing or graphic design and at least one year of related work experience.
Additional Information
The 2024 hourly rate of pay is $35.22 plus 4.4% in lieu of all benefits increasing to 12.4% upon completion of the probationary period. We offer a 9-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for nine days and one day off every two weeks).
