Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Coordinator to oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and safe operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management principles. This position will be based in Mississauga, Ontario, and will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of productivity and accuracy within our warehouse facility.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including space planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products through the warehouse.
- Offload trucks, verify shipments, and place merchandise in stock.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, counting, and stocking physical inventory in the warehouse and ensure the inventory control system is accurately updated on a timely manner.
- Open boxes, crates, other containers and inspect items to identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise and promptly notify the supervisor and update the inventory system accordingly.
- Occasionally, perform the task of driving to specified suppliers within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to pick up materials, transport the acquired materials to the warehouse, stock and log them into the inventory system.
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring physical stock is in line with the inventory management system and ensure all stock movements are properly recorded.
- Identify errors and discrepancies and promptly report them to the appropriate department. Eliminate root causes and ensure robust countermeasures are implemented to prevent repeated issues.
- Inspect items to ensure they are not damaged or faulty, adjusting inventory accordingly.
- Constantly monitor and maintain stock accuracy by recording all stock movements.
- Manage the picking of customer orders, ensuring on-time deliveries and accurate shipping with various trades personnel and subcontractors.
- Pack goods securely to prevent damage during shipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and security measures within the warehouse.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by organizing shelves, inventory space, and workstations. The task includes vacuuming and swiping when necessary.
- Keep the warehouse and yard spaces highly organized and orderly.
- Constantly work to improve processes and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate closely with various departments to achieve common organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or in a similar role is required. Previous experience in the construction and renovation field is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency in English, encompassing strong skills in both written and spoken communication, is a mandatory requirement.
- Current Forklift Operator Certification is mandatory.
- Valid Class G Full driver's license is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods of time and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. is a mandatory requirement.
- Good understanding of inventory management systems (Microsoft Office Excel) is required.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security protocols in a construction and renovation materials warehouse environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are highly desired.
- Ability to identify and eliminate root causes of issues is considered an asset.
