About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the Central Zone Manager, OHS&W, the Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support to the Central Zone OHS&W teams.
The Administrative Assistant ensures that the principles and practices that guide NSHA such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.
The main objective is to provide support to the NSHA OHSW Team, in order to assist employees and managers to minimize the effects of illness and injury on staff, the workplace and patients, and to promote a healthy lifestyle with the focus of enhancing existing levels of health, productivity and well-being.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
-Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program.
-Undergraduate degree is an asset.
-International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset.
-Excellent computer skills; familiar with enterprise software systems; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
-Well-developed abilities and skills in modern office practices.
-Demonstrated strong organizational and team skills with emphasis on decision making, problem solving, motivational and communication skills.
-Ability to effectively determine day-to-day priorities and utilize foresight to ensure appropriate activities for self and recommendations for team members.
-Ability to work effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks. Demonstrates resilience and maintains effectiveness. Flexible in creating and suggesting alternative solutions to meet goals.
-Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to effectively meet and communicate in situations requiring tact and poise. Proficiency in drafting detailed procedures, letters, reports, etc.
-Actively listens and conveys understanding of customers’ requests such that their needs can be anticipated and satisfied. Well-developed abilities with respect to problem solving required.

$20.37 - $25.46 Hourly
