Business Development Representative - Edmonton

SCOPE:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position exists for the purpose of representing and renting/selling the TNT Crane & Rigging fleet in Alberta while meeting and/or exceeding the
Business Development sales and customer support targets. This position is highly demanding and will require someone who has industry knowledge and service skills. These skills must be balanced with interpersonal skills and the ability to open doors, create dialog, maintain customer relations and close all sales with prospective clients.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Responsible for meeting with customers, assessing their requirements, generating quotes, and following up (review of technical drawings, site plans, job site)
- Work with Operations personnel to assess customer equipment requirements
- Responsible for sales activities in accordance with the department goals and objectives
- Maintain accounts with monthly review of contacts and sales volume targets
- Selling, renting and promoting company’s products and services
- Soliciting new account sales with a strong emphasis on prospecting activities
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current
(accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc
- Responsible for maintaining and following up on all sales leads within territory and updating customer files accordingly
- Responsible to submit all site and customer information to Operations personnel in a timely fashion to allow them to service the customers effectively
- Participation and support in planning exercises and meetings as required for developing and promoting sales and marketing programs
- Attend and participate in weekly/monthly Sales & Operations meetings as well as other company meetings when required.
- Resolve customer invoice concerns and perform credit duties as required
- Attend tradeshows, customer events and industry network events when required
- Ability to communicate effectively with Operations and Office Staff
- Any other duties assigned by Management
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Adhere to the corporate sales dress code and ensure cleanliness of company vehicle is always maintained
- This position requires the individual to work Monday to Friday with potential evenings and/or weekends
- This position may require travel
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in a Business-related field is an asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the crane business in a sales capacity or operations role
- Experience in organizing sales calls and schedules
- Industry related programs (3d lift plan, Liccon)
- Exceptional skills in developing and maintaining client relationships
- Proven track record in developing new sales and accounts
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates as well as any necessary site visits
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, etc.)
- Current industry standard training certificates considered an asset (First Aid, H2S Alive,
CSTS, etc.)
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
