Location Description:
Post Consumer Brands in Cobourg, Ontario is home to more than 140 team members and produces the majority of the company's Non-GMO Project Verified and organic products. Cobourg's historic downtown is just a short trip from the plant, perfect for an after-work walk on the towns many pathways and beautiful parks. Responsibilities:
Either directly, or through designated supervisory personnel, is responsible for the following:
- Responsible for creating a safe, healthful workplace, through participative input on hazard elimination, appropriate training and high standards of performance. Safety is the number one value that we all follow.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by supporting and enforcing the company health and safety program and the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Reviewing and processing weekly hourly payroll and semi-monthly salaried payroll.
- Payroll administration and issuing records of employment.
- Coordinates the selection processes for both salary and hourly vacancies, including sourcing and screening candidates; pre-employment skills testing; evaluating candidates; reference checking; extending offers and new-hire orientations.
- Maintains the facility’s benefit program and pension plan, including coordinating all communication in regards to the plan; updating information on current employees and enrolling new employees in the plan.
- Administer benefits for all employees and provide timely management reports.
- Manages the facility’s disability management program including occupational as well as non-occupational injury / illnesses
- Remit all government related payments in a timely manner and ensure compliance in these areas.
- Review errors in time and attendance and provide coaching to supervisors to reduce payroll errors.
- Frontline window human resources responses to employee questions as needed.
- Participate in employee relations’ activities such as investigations or union management meetings.
- Coordinates employee relations activities including leaves of absence; attendance tracking; progressive discipline and legal considerations; coaching supervisors on employee performance problems; employee assistance programs; collective agreement and policy interpretation and implementation.
- Provide senior management with reports related to KPI’s and other ad hoc requirements.
- Maintain all personnel files (both electronically and manually) and ensure they are updated and kept confidential.
- Assist in all regulatory and compliance reporting for the Cobourg facility such as, but not limited to, AODA, EHT and MOL requirements.
- Provide assistance to the HR Manager reviewing grievances and resolutions.
- Additional functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- HR Diploma minimum or related experience
- Experience processing payroll in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with Time & Attendance and Payroll (Kronos preferred)
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
