Job Summary:
The Communications Coordinator at L&P is a cross-functional role between our business strategy and marketing divisions. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and executing communication plans that align with our clients' marketing objectives. In addition to marketing support, this role will support the development of visual communication internally and externally. Duties involve: crafting compelling narratives, visually communicating complex data and messaging, while leveraging various communication channels to drive brand awareness and stakeholder/consumer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for effective communication, a keen understanding of marketing principles, and a track record of delivering impactful storytelling and design.
This role is offered at 25 hours per week to start, with potential for a 40 hours work week within 3 months based on performance.
Key Responsibilities (as required)
Communication Strategy Development:
- Assisting in the development of comprehensive communication plans in alignment with clients' business objectives.
- Formulate strategies to effectively convey key messages and narratives that resonate with target audiences.
Narrative Crafting:
- Create compelling and impactful narratives that showcase clients' brands, brand voice, products/services and organizational mission.
- Ensure consistency in messaging across various communication channels.
Graphic Design:
- Create visually appealing and engaging content that complements communication strategies.
- Ensure that design elements align with brand guidelines and enhance overall communication effectiveness.
- Formatting and layout for presentations and various digital and print materials.
Multi-Channel Communication:
- Utilize various communication channels such as social media, press releases, newsletters, and other platforms to reach diverse audiences.
- Optimize content for different channels to maximize brand awareness and engagement.
Brand Awareness and Engagement:
- Implement initiatives to enhance brand visibility and recognition.
- Foster engagement with target audiences through interactive and innovative communication methods.
Market Research:
- Stay on top of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform communication strategies.
- Conduct research to understand target audience preferences and behaviours.
Results Measurement and Analysis:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of communication plans.
- Use analytics tools to assess the impact of communication efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
Client Relationship Management:
- Attend client strategy meetings where applicable
- Engage with clients to solicit feedback, understand their goals and preferences.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction with communication initiatives.
Adaptability and Innovation:
- Stay current with emerging communication trends and technologies.
- Innovate communication strategies based on industry advancements and feedback.
- Disrupt the status quo, think outside the box.
Project Management:
- Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute communication plans seamlessly.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports detailing the performance of communication initiatives.
- Maintain documentation of communication strategies, processes, and outcomes for reference and improvement.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field an asset.
- Proven experience as a Communications Specialist or in a similar role.
- Excellent writing skills with very keen eye for detail
- Superior critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to a variety of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication tools
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects according to deadlines
- Experience creating/editing visual assets in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite with a good eye for design
- Familiarity with industry-standard communication tools and software
- Comfort working in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
- Thrives while working as part of a collaborative team
