The Communication Coordinator supports the Communications Supervisor in building and maintaining a network of effective relationships with external media professionals and internal stakeholders. The incumbent creates and deploys communication materials for specific audiences using multiple technologies.

· Acts as a resource and provides direct communications support to the team.

· In collaboration with the Communications Supervisor, develops and implements an ongoing communications plan.

· Leads the design, development, creation and implementation of multi-media information for families and stakeholders as assigned.

· Assists with the coordination and photography of events.

· Monitors local media postings and coverage.

· Works with leadership to ensure a high level of brand awareness and understanding.

· Stewards existing relationships internally and externally.

· With input from leadership, optimally markets the organization’s purchased services with targeted advertising.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

· Post-secondary education with a focus on communication, journalism or marketing preferred.

· Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience, superior written, editorial and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Experience in developing and executing both communications framework and marketing strategies preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $26.76-$31.48 per hour

Expected hours: 28.00 per week
