Employment: Temporary full-time (12-month contract)

Schedule: Days. Some evenings may be required on occasion.

FTE: 1.0

Location: CarePoint Health – 2695 North Sheridan Way, Suite 120, Mississauga, ON (with work from home options)

Preferred start date: February 2024

Salary: $64,286 - $75,630 (starting salary to commensurate with experience)

CPH is also the Network Lead Organization for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program in Brampton, Halton and Mississauga. OSP offers adults (18+) in Ontario free, short-term, evidence-based cognitive-behavioural therapy and related services for depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions.

What is this role?

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator that will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing communication strategies to enhance CarePoint Health’s brand visibility and engage with our diverse stakeholders. This role requires a unique blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and strong organizational skills to deliver compelling messages across various print and digital channels.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, your key responsibilities would include:

  • Assists in maintaining current and new internal and external communication vehicles, such as the website, SharePoint, and social media platforms with fresh and engaging content.
  • Supports the execution of various communication plans, initiatives, and events, inclusive of measurement and reporting.
  • Supports the development, posting and monitoring of content across various social media accounts.
  • Writes copy and manages updates to our core websites and blogs.
  • Provides support in drafting various communications materials (i.e. flyers, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc.)
  • Edits and can proofread content on behalf of stakeholders to align with brand voice and tone.
  • Manages creation and selection of photography and videos for print and electronic communications.
  • Supports administrative tasks such as overseeing the general inbox, maintaining the editorial and social media calendar, preparing reports, tracking analytics, maintaining distribution lists and other operational tasks.
  • Serves as a liaison between our printer and the CPH, including obtaining quotes and submitting projects.
  • Provides pre-event planning support and occasional onsite support.
  • Assists in ensuring CarePoint Health’s brand and visual style guidelines are followed throughout.

Key Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree and/or Post Graduate Certificate in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years practical and related communications experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to edit and proof-read various materials for clarity and typos.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Tech savvy with experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Analytics, YouTube, Constant Contact, Microsoft Teams, WordPress, SharePoint, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of maintaining and updating websites.
  • Demonstrated an interest and aptitude towards videography, graphic design and print production.
  • Ability to establish solid working relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining flexible to organizational needs.
  • Strong tactical and critical thinking skills.
  • A passion for words and a desire to grow and learn.
  • Maintains professionalism and represents the organization with care.
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
