Hazelwood Finance, a division of Hazelwood Group of Companies, is seeking a Development Coordinator to join the team in Nanaimo, BC. Compensation
- $55,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Summary
The Development Coordinator will work closely with the VP of Property Development on managing Hazelwood’s lineup of existing real estate developments, as well as assisting in the exploration of new and potential projects. Liaising with external stakeholders such as consultants, government officials, legal counsel, and the general public will be required. Additionally, working closely with internal departments including Finance and Accounting, Marketing, and Business Development will also be critical. Management of existing Hazelwood properties will also fall under this role.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders, such that project deadlines are consistently met.
- Manage existing Hazelwood properties, including lease renewals and updates, planning renovations, scheduling regular maintenance, and applying for necessary development permits.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and entitlements of residential, commercial, and industrial property projects.
- Prepare timely, accurate & professional (internal and external) reports at the request of the VP of Property Development and/or CEO.
- Follow reporting and administrative requirements as assigned to meet identified deadlines. These requirements include the preparation of rezoning, subdivision, development and building permit applications.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Canadian project coordination experience. Real Estate or Property development experience also an asset.
- Degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution in a related discipline considered an asset; preferably in business, planning, economics, or architecture.
- Good knowledge and understanding of project management principles.
- Effective planning, organizational and time management skills.
- Effective negotiation, facilitation, influencing, persuasion, conflict resolution and consensus building skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Above average analytical skills and extreme attention to detail.
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of current business applications, particularly complex spreadsheet and project management software.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
