Under the supervision of the Manager, Recreation and Community Services, the Facility Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Recreation and Community Services employees by performing operational, maintenance and cleaning services to PERC and related facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with cleaning the arena, community hall, and PERC grounds as assigned. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: grass cutting, cleaning park pavilions, maintaining flower gardens, assisting with hall set up and tear down and general facility cleaning and changing trash;
- Provides assistance and information to all PERC user groups;
- Keeps parking lot and entrances clear, free of trash and debris;
- Collects admission fees at sponsored events;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 14 years of age;
- Requires some heavy lifting;
- Entry-level position where previous volunteer experience is desirable;
- Strong interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills;
- Exceptional customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- Candidates must be willing to work evenings and weekends
- Work outdoors, including heat and sun exposure as well as rain to be expected
- Anticipated start date: April 29, 2024
- Anticipated end date: August 30, 2024
- 2024 Hourly Rate - $15.60 - $18.33 per hour
- Optional participation in OMERS Pension Plan
