THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to and under the general direction of the Arena Supervisor, this position is primarily based at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex. Key responsibilities include maintaining the ice surface, maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the building, monitoring the pool, and performing preventative maintenance. Additional duties include assisting staff in securing the buildings in accordance with existing policies and procedures, ensuring walkways are clear of snow and debris and a variety of other tasks. This position works a variety of shifts and days, primarily evening and weekends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Ability to run ice machine.
• Ability to clean to established standards.
• Physical ability to undertake the duties required.
• Ability to work a variety of days and shifts, including on-call.
• Ability to deal with the public in a friendly and effective manner.
• Ability to represent the City and the Department in a professional, competent manner.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS and CERTIFICATIONS:

• Arena Operator I certification or Pool Operator I certification is an asset
• 1-year related experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License

Salary Range: $54,177 - $67,721 per annum (based on 40 hour work week). The City offers a comprehensive benefits and pension program and 3 weeks' vacation to start.
