FAMILY RESOURCE AND SUPPORT WORKER

One full-time position commencing immediately is available for a Family Resource Worker to provide services in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

The successful candidate will provide support and assistance to families in planning and accessing resources that facilitate meaningful involvement in the day-to-day community life for children/youth who have a developmental disability.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess a post-secondary education degree or diploma equivalent in the human service field including social work, psychology, sociology, developmental services or equivalent, with at least three years experience working with individuals with a developmental disability.

Case management skills, a working knowledge of community resources, and ability to navigate and access various funding sources is essential.

The position requires the ability to work with children and families with diverse life experiences. Excellent communication and interviewing skills, interpersonal skills and a proven ability to deal with a variety of situations with empathy and diplomacy are essential.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well independently, as well as strong team skills are required.

The position requires the capacity to keep accurate case records through use of an electronic data base.

A car and a valid Ontario Driver’s License are required. Travel throughout Hastings and Prince Edward Counties is expected.

Salary: $52,714.80-$61,142.81 per year
