About the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club: As a family-oriented private Club, our mission is to be a deliver exceptional value and experiences, inspired by our warm and welcoming culture. Located in North Toronto, the Club consists of over 4,000 members, with a strong presence in both the local and international social and sporting community.

The Club requires a hands-on experienced Food and Beverage Managerto join our busy Food and Beverage team. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, this position will be responsible for leading the Food & Beverage service team in providing a high standard of service excellence to members and guests in multiple dining areas and food outlets. The successful candidate will provide leadership to front-of-house staff and maintain strong relationships with members and guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage service activities in the multiple dining areas and Food and Beverage outlets throughout the Club.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Manager & Lead Food and Beverage Supervisors to provide ongoing training for Food and Beverage staff to ensure consistent, quality service
  • Provide leadership, supervision, problem solving and decision making to staff
  • Motivate staff to promote excellent member satisfaction and service
  • Be a visible, hands-on manager; recruit, train and develop staff while handling workforce scheduling and planning.
  • Be a proactive and responsive relationship manager with members and guests
  • With the Director of Food & Beverage, be responsible for managing labour budgets while ensuring proper staffing levels to provide consistent, quality service
  • Further develop, implement and advise on service standards

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or related program
  • Extensive knowledge of excellent Food & Beverage service, minimum of 3 years managerial role within the restaurant, hotel or private club industry
  • Service-oriented, member-focused
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of wines, beers, spirits
  • Leadership experience, ability to motivate others, excellent communication skills
  • Excellent demonstrated computer skills
  • Able and willing to work variable hours - days, evenings and weekends as per fluctuating business demands
