We are a local group of cafes catering to the downtown working community as well as a growing residential base. Well into our 2nd decade of business, our cafes enjoy a dedicated clientele who come for our hospitality & consistent service as well as a quality product. We offer primarily European inspired flavours, morning & mid day fare, both for here & to go, with a focus on offering the best possible value. This is a counter service environment with a very successful coffee operation working in partnership with our food sales.
All applicants must currently reside in Canada. Previous work history in the food industry is essential.
Job description
Wage Range to start, based upon experience. $18.65 to $20.65 per hour plus a generous hourly top up from the tip pool. Staff discounts & monthly give card allowance.

Experience in food handling & preparation in a busy cafe environment with demonstrated history of progressive responsibility is essential. The position suits someone w/ a consistent employment history. Experience in customer service is an asset as this is a unique opportunity in an open prep space that provides plenty of opportunity for positive interaction with our guests. ```Duties```
- Responsible for the preparation of food items for cooking or serving
- Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications as directed
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes
- Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
```Skills```
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and Food Preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
