VACANCY NOTICE: FRONT DESK AGENT
DEV Hotel and Conference Centre wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified internal staff to join the Front Desk team in the position of Front Desk Agent.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Front Desk Manager the role exists to provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times and acts as first and main contact for guests and other departments through:
- Anticipating and addressing guest needs, resolving their problems and escalating complaints where necessary by contacting the appropriate department including immediate management.
- Providing and obtaining all necessary information and disseminating correct information when taking reservations over the phone.
- Completing check-in/checkout processes, maintaining an inventory of room vacancies, reservations, room assignments and enter rooming list or other data in Maestro correctly.
- Be aware of room locations, types of rooms, availability and room rate all the time.
- Utilizing proper customer relations techniques to make sure calls are handled both courteously, professionally and on a timely basis.
- Ensuring that messages, deliveries, and faxes are handled correctly and efficiently.
- Ensuring all necessary reports and forms are completed daily and communicate to other departments.
- Verifying that proper identification and credit cards are used ensuring all postings of cash transactions, account settlements are handled correctly.
- Taking appropriate incidentals and room fees via authorization correctly ensuring proper information is taken with systems (Maestro, Clover).
- Checking status of departures throughout the shifts and relaying all pertinent information when handle over to the next shift.
- Ensuring guest areas and back of the house are clean an organized.
- Performing any other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent required.
- Completion of a College program in Front Desk operations or hotel management an asset.
- Bilingualism an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time, Unionized | Schedule: flexible for day & evening shifts, weekend availability required.
