Location: MULTIMATIC STRUCTURES & SUSPENSION GROUP OFFICE, East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent is responsible, as the HR Generalist and an advisor, for providing support to the Operational Group and Divisions to help them to achieve their business goals specifically in the areas of Positive Employee Relations, Health & Safety, Talent Acquisition and Development while fostering a culture which reflects the Values and Culture of Multimatic. The incumbent will act as a resource person to the Group and Divisions as required.
Please note this position is ON-SITE with occasional travel in Canada and the US.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to:
Talent Attraction & Acquisition
- Supports and builds our brand as an Employer of Choice through:
- Attending Job Fairs and/or Career Fairs on occasion representing Multimatic Structures & Suspension group.
- Investigates and coordinates networking events.
- Work with Divisions and Corporate communications to set up regular campus promotion /recruiting events annually.
- Partner with local schools in the community for promotion of manufacturing sector jobs eg. Skills Ontario and local High Schools events.
- Support Multimatic public presence focusing on attraction and retention strategies. May contribute to Multimatic’s social media communications and strategies (eg. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Regular branded postings
- Monitors comments and inquiries
- Maintains and monitors electronic job boards (LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.)
- Job posting administration
- Coordination of applications and inquiries
- Conducts search of potential candidates
- Summarize analytics
- Through awareness of divisional resource needs distributes potential candidate profiles. Manages, resume and applicant database, company website job porthole and ad hoc employment inquiries.
HR Analytics
- Collect and summarize HR Scorecard metrics and support divisions in achieving the organizational goals to continuously improve their Key measurables.
- Conduct analytics on recruiting metrics to assess effectiveness of recruiting programs and make recommendations to address gaps.
- Supports New Hire surveys to solicit feedback on the recruitment and onboarding practices at Multimatic. Review data and may solicit focus group feedback and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
HR Technology & Human Capital Management
- Supports HCM implementation and ongoing support becoming a subject matter expert for the group.
- Supports training of existing and new applicable staff
- Understanding and leveraging of the platform capabilities
- Administers Group’s HR Sharepoint communication site
- Assist divisions with engagement survey Action Plan development / Focus Group activities that support continuous improvement of Multimatic employee experience.
- Coordinates, with support of external resources, the Group’s employee mobility (eg. Work permit application, etc), and monitors for renewals.
- Develop effective working relationships with group and divisional leadership teams, HR Manager, and HR department personnel.
- Assist Group and divisions with projects or initiatives as requested either remotely or on site.
- Respond to day-to-day divisional inquiries and acts as avenue in the Open Door Process.
Compliance
- Supports HR and Health & Safety program development and implementation and monitors success.

- Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF, etc).
- Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Education/Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in high volume recruitment in engineering and/or manufacturing;
- Demonstrated success in leveraging talent acquisition strategies
- Active user electronic job boards, networks and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, Zip Recruiter, etc.)
- Several years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role, in a Manufacturing environment preferred;
- Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources Management preferred;
- A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or SHRM (CHP) designation or working towards it, will be considered an asset;
- Strong competency in workplace health & safety requirements and programs;
- Demonstrated high level of project management/coordination skills involving multiple projects with short timelines;
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite of products, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,);
- Prior experience administering and leveraging HRIS/HCM systems;
- Above-average communication and presentation skills (written and oral), including public speaking skills;
- Valid Drivers’ license as travel will be required;
- Fluent in English; other languages an asset;
- Ability to travel within Canada and the USA;
- Ability to consider/accept temporary assignments at Group’s locations

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The majority of the job is performed in a standard office environment with minimal risk or harmful elements.
- Utilizing computer and/or telephone frequently.
- Job requires dealing with confidential and sensitive information and situations.
- Periodic overnight travel within North America and potential short term assignments away from main office
