Health & Safety Specialist/Operations Support, Cambridge Location
Maple Automotive Corporation (MAC), located in Cambridge, ON, is currently looking for a Safety Specialist/Operations Support to join our ever-growing team. Health and Safety Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness and implement amendments to the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations.
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures, written reports, and recommendations.
- Maintain the OHSMS and Global Standards Safety elements and all documentation required.
- Conduct safety orientation and Safety training to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with leadership.
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Act as a member of the Joint Health and Safety committee and coordinate meetings.
- Manage the BBSA/BBO (Behavioural Based Safety Analysis) program while ensuring constant compliance.
- Work closely with senior management to develop a safe culture.
- All other duties assigned.
Operations Support Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior management in maintaining and implementing various operations programs including:
o ATSG (All Toyota Security Guidelines) & corporate cybersecurity
o BCP (Business Continuity Program)
o ISO 14001 (Environmental Certification)
o Kaizen (Continuous Improvement)
- FMDS (Floor Management Development System)
- Cross training with production and quality control department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree or College diploma/Certificate in related field.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
- Certified First Aid and JHSC certificate is an asset.
- Experience within the automotive industry is considered an asset.
- Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Great communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to travel as required.
