Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of comprehensive HSE programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of our HSE initiatives and drive positive change within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive health, safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular assessments, inspections, and audits to identify HSE risks and areas for improvement, collaborating with departmental leaders to address findings.
- Facilitate the creation and communication of HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure understanding and compliance across all levels of the organization.
- Provide expert guidance and support to supervisors and managers in the enforcement of HSE standards, including the identification and implementation of preventative measures.
- Participate in incident investigations, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to track progress, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs and educational materials to enhance awareness and competency among employees.
- Drive the integration of environmental sustainability initiatives into HSE programs, promoting resource conservation and pollution prevention efforts.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including the development and testing of contingency plans and protocols.
- Foster a culture of safety, health, and Environmental stewardship throughout the organization through effective communication, engagement, and recognition programs.
- Facilitate Return to Work (RTW) programs to support employees' safe and timely return to the workplace.
- Implement behavioural-based safety programs to encourage proactive safety behaviours and attitudes among employees.
- Coordinate contractor programs and permit programs to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- University/College degree in Health, Safety, and Environment or related field equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in a HSE role in a manufacturing setting.
- CRSP certification/CRST preferred or in progress.
