About this Opportunity:
The Human Resources Assistant will report to the Human Resources Manager and cover a wide range of administrative tasks supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This role will support core HR functions such as talent acquisition, employee relations, on and off boarding, and various project work. The Human Resources Assistant will also adhere to, support and reflect the organizations health and safety plan at all times as well as promote and reflect company core values, code of ethics and employee code of conduct.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Payroll: assist with data entry of required information into ADP Workforce Now for new hires; processing changes to employee’s electronic record upon receipt of the required Payroll Change Notice form for wage changes, terminations, leaves of absence and promotions.
- Liaison: point of contact for employees over the phone and in person and respond to day-to-day Human Resources inquiries.
- Communication: coordinate and disseminate departmental and individual communications to staff across the organization.
- File maintenance: responsible for manual and electronic records of the departments information system; maintaining employee records in a secure system ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Health and Safety: enter data on health and safety matters, including record keeping, assist with the coordination of health, safety and wellness by promoting and supporting initiatives.
- Complies with company and department specific policies.
- Abides by all health and safety programs and regulations.
- Reports any observed or potential hazards immediately to their supervisor.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Accounting, HR Management, or other related field
- ADP Workforce Now Payroll and HR Software experience (considered an asset)
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work to meet established deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
