Medical Office Assistant (Part-Time)

Seeking a second MOA to be trained by our current MOA to work independently in a unique office that is both an infectious disease specialist’s practice as well as a travel and immunization clinic. This is an interesting position that involves varied duties and clientele. We are looking for an MOA who has strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and telephone skills. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The ability to multitask is important. MOA certificate is mandatory. Med Access knowledge and Medical Office Assistant training are strong assets.

The position is primarily for the immunization clinic with coverage for the infectious disease office. The position will be approximately 8-12 hours a week with availability for vacation and sick coverage (no evenings or stat holidays). Starting and training wage is $24/hour for 3-month probation period with escalation based on experience. Main duties include:

- Scheduling, reminder calls.

- Answering the phone and calling patients with instructions.

- Booking vaccination appointments and answering general inquiries about vaccines.

- Ordering office supplies and vaccines.

- Faxing, importing documents, electronic and paper based filling, and other clerical duties.

- Triaging referrals, faxing lab requisitions, and booking consultations.

What we are looking for:

- Medical Office Assistant certificate required; experience is an asset.

- Experience in EMR systems (Med Access).

- Fast learner.

- Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and phone etiquette.

- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other fundamental computer functions.

- Tech savvy individual.

- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and manage time effectively.

- Must be comfortable working independently (once trained).
