Salary range : $1300/ week - based on experience
Reporting to: Camp Director

Job Description:
This position is part of the senior camp management team. Its functions are to handle the scheduling of all personnel with the priority of maximizing coverage, and to design and deliver innovative, discovery and skill focused programs for the entire camp population (evening, daytime electives, special themes, day trips, visitations, etc).

It requires the incumbent to work with other senior staff members prior to the opening of camp to review and to establish program objectives, to establish an operating budget, to make recommendations on the acquisition of equipment and
/ or materials and to identify outside resources that could enrich the quality of the camp program.

The Program Coordinator will be required to operate with a co-lead and will therefore have to create a clear communications plan and delegation model.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Schedule and post: activities, choice activities, night-duty, morning-duty, lifeguards, musical lunch.
● Evaluate Activity staff and provide support with budgeting, programming ideas, logistics, and feedback.
● Create, plan and run all evening programs.
● Assist directly with all campers as needed.
● Assist the Staff Supervisors or Teen Program Supervisors upon request or as needed.
● Provide feedback to the Director Team.

● Provide support for all staff in regards to ideas for programming, rainy day programming and alternative plans for campers based on individual needs.

● Create, plan and run/delegate all co-operative games.
● Create and supervise the teen transition program as well as Play Lab as needed.

Collaboratively with the Director Team:
● Ensure program standards are being met.
● Design and implement the program and make changes to improve the quality of camp service
● Create and manage budgets for activity staff, evening programs, off-site trips and general camp programming supplies.
● Support the Director Team in any compliance based inspections.
● Assist in the evaluation of cabin staff members.

Qualifications and Experience

* Certifications based on position are as follows
● Lifeguard certification- NLS, First-aid / CPR,
● High ropes- ACCT/ CUI/ Adventureworks level I or II ( willingness to obtain )
● NCCP ( Coaching certificate) an asset
● Varsity level sports experience an asset
● Waterfront staff- ORCKA certification ( willingness to obtain)
● Hike leader certification
● ACMG- ( Association of Canadian Mountain Guide) certification

* certifications must be current. Financial assistance is available upon request and with prior approval. Certifications can be out of province if approved.

Location, Hours and Compensation:
● The Program Lead will live onsite from June - August
