Tails & Trails Country Pet Resort is seeking an additional part time employee to join us! We are a small team that get to enjoy the company of dogs (and a few cats) everyday. This is a great opportunity for a career in the animal industry!
We have 1 part-time position available Thursday-Saturday.
If you love dogs, enjoy spending time outside and cleaning (okay maybe this part isn’t quite as much fun, but the cuddles make up for it!) we’d love to chat!
You must be comfortable supervising dogs during group play sessions. A general knowledge of dog behaviour and handling techniques is an asset, but training is made available.
We are looking for self motivated individuals with the ability to work independently to complete tasks within specified time frames.
The shifts are:
Thursday: 7am-3:30pm
Friday: 7am-3:30pm
Saturday: 7am-6pm
All employees are expected to work various holidays throughout the year (this includes Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and all other statutory holidays).
Car is a must as there is no public transportation.

Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Administer medications as directed by owners & supervisors
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their well-being
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals when needed
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to supervisor
- Assist with intake and discharge of animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic care techniques
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Strong communication skills
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time in year-round weather (we live in Canada so expect extreme heat summers and bitterly cold winters outdoors).
