The Town of Canmore is looking for a organized , self-starter with strong project management experience to join our team as Public Works Coordinator.

The Public Works Project Coordinator contributes to the community by assisting in the assessment and maintenance of critical community assets and infrastructure such as Streets & Roads, Parks, Utilities and Solid Waste Services. You will be helping to ensure our community can maximize the potential of our public spaces and services now and into the future.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Public Works and supporting the entire Public Works team, the Public Works Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing a wide variety of administration, research, and special projects including: project management, contractor training and oversight, procurement, fleet services, asset management, data integrity and reporting. Fulfillment of the Project Coordinators portfolio requires the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with all teams within the department as well as actively collaborate with many other Town departments to align goals and resources. As Public Works Project Coordinator, you will be assigned many high priority technical and administrative projects, and you will have the opportunity to see a high volume of projects through to completion. You will have the opportunity to further develop your exceptional communication and customer service skills as you are responsible for public inquiries, liaising with external stakeholders and oversight of contracted services.

You have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a related field such as Project or Risk Management, Engineering, Procurement, Fleet Services, or Public Administration. A minimum of a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as engineering technologist, project management, and public administration is also required. A candidate certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred. Exceptional organizational habits, the ability to set and meet realistic deadlines, strong computer skills, analytical and problem solving skills will help you to be successful in this role.

Compensation and Benefits:
