Billyard Insurance Group is looking for a Receptionist at our Welland Branch. If you’re an individual with business/office administration experience who possess excellent customer service skills and is interested in a growing career in the insurance industry, this may be the role for you.
What does a Receptionist representative do?
Our Receptionist is primarily responsible for operating the head office telephone and transferring/forwarding calls to the appropriate person. As the customer’s first point of contact, the Receptionist representative is responsible for answering client general inquiries and providing information to the general public. Acting as a liaison, the Receptionist arranges, sends, receives, and sorts head office correspondences with customers, branches, business partners and external vendors.
Here are some of the main tasks you can expect to come across your desk on a regular or periodic basis:
- Collect, sort, distribute & prepare incoming & outgoing mail
- Listen & respond to voicemails, forwarding to other individuals when necessary
- Answer general customer inquiries via telephone or email, forwarding to other individuals when necessary

- Confident with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Planner, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Comfortable answering incoming calls, returning voicemails & responding to emails
- Potential to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while prioritizing responsibilities
- Ability to build & maintain relationships through phone & email correspondence
- Potential to monitor & check work or information while demonstrating a concern for all areas involved
- Ability to navigate, evaluate & communicate information online or in a digital format
- Knowledge of office procedures & practices
- Strong attention to detail & customer service skills
- Active listener with excellent oral and written communication skills
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary education diploma or equivalent
- Post-Secondary Education in business administration, office administration, or related field is an asset
- 1-2 years’ experience in business/office administration and/or customer service
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Planner, SharePoint, etc.)
- Insurance or Financial Services industry experience is an asset
