How will you contribute?
As a member of the Communications Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of Senate social media from drafting content to monitoring and measuring the success of posts. The incumbent will collaborate with other members of the social media team, writers and designers to develop engaging social media campaigns that inform Canadians about the work of Canada’s Upper Chamber.
We are seeking candidates with a passion for social media, who stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies and have a strong interest in Canada’s Parliament.

The general public to staff one (1) permanent (full-time) position in the Communications Directorate.
This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
- Successful completion of a university degree, college diploma, in communications, journalism or related field of study and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the social media communications field;
- Experience creating social media content and maintaining accounts on behalf of an organization for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn;
- Experience with social media management tools like Hootsuite;
- Experience planning and delivering social media campaigns and measuring results;
- Experience explaining social media trends and techniques in plain language;
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment;
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail;
- Demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of Parliament and the Canadian political landscape.
