Special Events Coordinator
The Capitol Centre, with the financial support of NOHFC, is offering the following one year contract opportunity.
Job Description: The Capitol Centre is seeking a Special Events Coordinator. This position will work closely with the
Manager of Sponsorship and Fund Development by supporting existing fundraising initiatves, assisting with new fundraising strategies, and researching opportunities for sponsorship and donor program growth.
This position will be heavily involved in the development of a new fundraising event and responsible for creating sponsorship packages, overseeing sponsor and donor recruitment, and coordinating event vendors, décor, etc. They will also be responsible for supporting other annual fundraising events as well as boosting sponsorship recruitment, coordinating volunteers, liaising with community groups and organizations and supporting event promotions for various Capitol Centre initiatives such as Next Generation Education Series, Bluesfest and more. These efforts will increase our capacity to effectively offer accessible programming and foster an appreciation for arts and culture within the North Bay community.
Qualifications: University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. The position will be the first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study. Strong communication skills and an autonomous work ethic is a must. A background in arts management, arts administration, event management or fund development is an asset.
Salary: $34,998 for a one-year contract.
