Reports to: Manager, IT Datacenter Services

Purpose of the Role As a Senior Systems Administrator you will be accountable for providing support of a 7x24 Intel environment; this includes troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance. There will be local travel involved as well as on call responsibilities.

This is a Full Time Remote role based in Ontario.

Core Accountabilities

• Design, install, administer and optimize/secure Microsoft Windows and Linux servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary
• Manage Cloud Instances (Azure) with DevOps practices
• Maintain Citrix XenApp/Presentation Server Farms
• Maintain Cisco UCS, HP/Dell Blade Server Farms
• Ensure the stable operation of in-house Exchange and O365 e-mail messaging systems and their corresponding hardware and software
• Provide ongoing support for VMWare ESX server farm and hosts
• Maintain multi-vendor SAN environment (Dell/EMC, HP, Hitachi) with Brocade/McData fabric
• Ensure the availability of the LIS (Laboratory Information System) and business applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment
• Provide operation analysis and develops detailed specifications for equipment procurement and systems maintenance
• Act a primary liaison between equipment/maintenance vendors and IT for issues related to server and storage hardware

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Post-secondary diploma in related field
• A minimum of 5 years of related work experience
• Experience in infrastructure administrator and security operations, incident response, vulnerability assessments and security architecture design
• Strong knowledge of Security system auditing tools and PowerShell or other scripting languages
• Core understanding of system hardening, patching in Windows and Linux environment
• Prior experience monitoring/administering system firewalls, IDS, IPS technology is an asset
• In-depth understanding of network protocols, firewalls, Network intrusion detection systems, SIEM technology, UEBA solutions, DLP, vulnerability scanners, VPN, virus protection technologies, access control
• Azure Cloud, Microsoft Server and related fields certification
• Experience with Cloud (Azure) In-depth knowledge and experience. Maintain Citrix XenApp/Presentation Server
• Advanced knowledge of VMWare ESX
• In depth knowledge of and experience in server operating systems, engineering, design, vendor equipment, and related networking services
• Experience with Cisco UCS and HP/Dell Blades • Knowledge of O365 and AD Migration
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and possess good decision making skills
• Excellent customer interaction skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Requires excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrates a high level of teamwork skills and ability to share ideas and solutions to work through challenges
• Must be flexible with working hours, may include on-call back up and weekends.
• Must be open for travel to sites.

This is a remote role.

Hiring Range: 78,300 - 99,800

The hiring range has been established, however, the final salary recommendation will be determined based off the level of experience, education requirement, external market conditions and internal equity.

In this position, you will be eligible for Lifelabs annual bonus.
