Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Technical Service Coordinator to join our Client Services team. Alongside other project managers, you will operate as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring seamless communication, organization and delivery of our services. This role is full-time permanent, and based at our Annacis Island, Delta BC facility.

Role Description:
This customer-facing role is ideally suited to candidates with a firm grasp of chemistry and scientific principles, who prefer applying their knowledge to communication, coordination and technical administration activities outside the wet lab. The primary function is to bridge the space between clients and our technical staff at the bench, with a heavy focus on customer engagement, and opportunity / order management. You will assess client requirements and queries, and connect them with our company-wide capabilities including:
- Process and Product chemistry testing by classic wet chemistry and instrument-based analysis such as GC, HPLC, ICP, Elemental Analysis, and IC
- Pulping and bleaching studies conducted at our Pilot Plant facility
- Microscopy based fibre and contaminant identification
- Physical and Optical pulp properties testing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build industry-specific application knowledge and connect mill, consultant and supplier clients to our full capabilities. Our core expertise is in chemical, physical and optical analyses of Pulp & Paper and Biofuel process and product materials.
- Receive, log, and distribute shipments of client samples, verifying the content and condition and addressing discrepancies as they arise.
- Create and submit Orders / Samples to the laboratory.
- Monitor incoming and committed workload, and collaborate with lab supervisors to prioritize delivery of results.
- Data checking, reporting and invoicing accurately and within target time-frames; if needed, keep customers informed of changes to delivery timelines.
- Inform and assist our Quality team in resolving customer complaints or concerns with results.
- Work closely with our Sales and Marketing team by organizing or participating in online meetings to understand client’s needs, queries, and follow-up on results for project work.
- Keep up-to-date records of client interactions, project details and communications history in our client management system.

- A strong grasp of fundamental scientific/ chemistry principles. Completed a bachelor’s degree in a chemistry or similar discipline.
- Previous experience (2+ years) and demonstrated success in a client services or project coordination role in a scientific or laboratory setting (ISO 17025) is highly preferred. Other customer-facing experience is also valuable.
- Though not essential, familiarity with the pulp and paper industry will be an asset for this job.
- Computers aren’t a barrier. Highly proficient in MS Excel and Word, reasonable knowledge in LIMS, and adaptable to software generally.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with an ability to engage people in a positive manner. A drive and ability to engage in the interpersonal dynamics of sales.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $50 - 60k/yr subject to experience and competencies
- Annual Bonus: Typically 5-10% of base depending on company and personal performance.
