Accounting and Payroll Administrator

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all daily accounting procedures including Accounts Receivable, and posting all account payable invoices
• Accounts receivable collections while maintaining customer relationship;
• Prepare and post month end journal entries;
• Maintains petty cash;
• Work with management team to improve quality of reporting and administrative processes;
• Maintains customer, vendor and inventory masterfiles;
• Issues customer statements twice per month;
• Prepare bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salary and USA employees;
• Handles and monitors the use of the electronic timekeeping system;
• Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and management and manage company-wide payroll communications;
• Assist with payroll audits and month/year-end adjustments;
• Prepare RRSP and Benefit accrual reports to ensure accurate uploads to pay statements;
• Coordinate with the HR department regarding company RRSP;
• Observe and practice safe work at all times;
• Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in accounting/finance/business
  
• Payroll compliance practitioner or similar asset
• 2+ years accounting experience
• 2+ years of experience in A/R, collections, and general accounting
• 2+ years of experience with finance, payroll, and banking software
• Proven aptitude with numbers and demonstrated organization skills;
• Established customer service and negotiation skills;
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;l
• Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft 360)
