The Township of Rideau Lakes is seeking an individual to fill the full-time position of HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator who is responsible for overseeing and administering the payroll and benefits function as well as providing human resources administrative support.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Oversee/administer payroll in compliance with Canadian Payroll Association guidelines
- Ensures that ADP administers/pays biweekly remittance payments to Receiver General (CPP, EI, EHT and taxes). Reconcile and create monthly remittances for WSIB, OMERS, and pay through banking website. Reconcile Equitable Life Benefits.
- Input journal vouchers for payroll, WSIB, OMERS, Equitable Life per pay period/ monthly.
- Maintain/update rates and deductions as required; maintain vacation, sick leave, statutory time, and banked time for all departments.
- Prepare quarterly payroll forecasts/annual payroll budgets and input into system.
- Perform year-end activities including preparation of T4s/T4 summary, taxable benefits, OMERS Form 119, WSIB and EHT reconciliation.
- Administer the employees’ benefit package and liaise between benefit carrier.
- Manage employee injury/illness reporting, including employee injury/illness documentation, liaise with WSIB and employee and maintain records.
- Provides support to CAO within all facets of Human Resources including: preparing job advertisements, hiring letters, coordination of interviews, etc.
- Ensures WSIB Clearance Certificates are up-to-date on contractors list.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS TRAINING:
- Post-Secondary education in Business/Finance Administration or related discipline with course study in payroll, and human resources administration.
- Municipal Accounting and Finance Program through AMCTO would be considered an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Certification (PCP) designation via National Payroll Institute an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience processing payroll.
- Knowledge of relevant employment and labour legislation.
