Our established small to mid sized construction industry client is currently looking to hire a full time Accounting Clerk. They have provided excavation, paving, snow removal services in the Ottawa area for over 15 years.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Perform accounts payable processes: receiving and recording invoices, prepare biweekly payables list and perform payments
- Perform accounts receivable processes: prepare accounts receivable aging report and follow up on receivables via email including occasional collection calls
- Assist in preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
- Assist with month-end procedures
- Ensure accuracy of employee records
- Ensure accuracy of employee hours recorded in tracking software
- Generate financial reports using accounting software (Quickbooks Online)
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work 100% on-site with own method of transportation
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Certificate of Accounting or related field considered an asset
- Proven 2 years experience in accounting
- 2 years experience with Quickbooks Online
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
