Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk.
The successful candidate will be responsible for full cycle accounting and all related activities. Reporting to the Controller- Underhill Bros/Can-Am Pepper Company Ltd., the successful candidate will support our Canadian office in providing financial and administrative support to the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities

o Perform bank account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
o Post invoices and journal entries related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
o Process vendor invoices, including timely and accurate payments.
o Conduct monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
o Receive and record cash and cheques.
o Prepare monthly HST returns.
o Maintain and balance general ledger.
o Prepare trial balances and reconcile entries.
o Maintain historical records and ensure filing system remains current.
o Perform other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
o Actively pursuing accounting certification is preferred.
o Experience with bookkeeping databases is an asset.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Software.
o Strong attention to detail.
o Ability to work independently.
o Excellent time management skills.
o Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
o Understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
o Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

• Aylmer, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
• Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
