Accounting Clerk
Blue Line Transportation Ltd is the largest and oldest ground transportation provider in the Golden Horseshoe. Blue Line offers comprehensive ground transportation services to Hamilton, Burlington and the surrounding areas. This service includes Private hire, contracted ground transport, and traditional Taxi service.
Blue Line is committed to maintaining a wholly operated Canadian business. This includes Call Centre and Backoffice operations aimed at serving customers in this part of Canada.
The company has invested substantially and hosts a state-of-the-art Call Centre Operation using enterprise grade software in an AWS hosted environment. This Call Centre operation is digitally connected to all back office operations, including a fully digital transport set of tools. This commitment to excellence provides both customers and employees with exceptional service and tools delivering extremely high customer satisfaction.
Role Responsibilities: - Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data - Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports - Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions - Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities - Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger maintenance - Assist with payroll processing using Ceridian or similar software - Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage to perform daily tasks - Collaborate with other departments to resolve any accounting discrepancies - Provide support during audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred - Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices - Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage - Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems is a plus - Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail - Strong organizational and time management abilities - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Salary: $35,000.00-$44,000.00 per year
