Business Development Manager/Estimator-Glazing Contractor/Architectural Cladding

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Manager/Estimator is responsible for the following, but not limited to:

Actively develop new streams of work, establish a plan with owners and execute this plan.

Identify and visit new customers, architects, builders, etc.

Set up and work with content creator to establish active online presence.

Preparing takeoffs/estimates of the costs of materials, labour and equipment for commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

Glazing Systems/Architectural Composite Wall Systems/Wall Cladding Systems

Preparing and following up on quotations and tenders

Attending pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates

Analyzing and comprehending project plans, specifications and details

Analyzing project financials and labour costs

Completing thorough bid packages for clients

Preparing takeoffs/estimates of costs of materials, labour and equipment

Preparing and following up on quotations and advising on tendering procedures (including examination and analyzing of estimates)

Consulting and communicating with project managers, architects, engineers and clients involved at all levels of a project

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technician, or similar, background in marketing/sales would be considered an asset.

Minimum one (1) year estimating experience in the commercial, industrial construction industry preferred

Ability to read plans and specifications

Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Excellent written and oral communication

Strong negotiation skills

Ability to be a team player and work in a fast-paced team environment

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

POSITION SPECIFICS

Full time position. Straight days, Monday through Friday. Full details to be provided at time of interview.

Wage: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 depending on experience, benefits and RRSP contributions eligible, incentives for hitting targets.
