Job description

Status: 12 months term

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Director, Community Impact & Financial Inclusion, this position plays a key role in supporting the operations within the Community Impact Department to meet the objective of generating and retaining business from existing members and building new business.

Key accountabilities include courier program administration, monthly Community reports, year-end reporting and daily administrative duties related to the Community & Financial Inclusion Granting Programs and financial education under the Community Impact Department.

Major Responsibilities

Community Financial Resiliency Program:

  • Contribute to the growth and ongoing tracking and reporting of the Community Accounts portfolio.
  • Monitor and input data in the Community Accounts pipeline tracker.
  • Perform annual data cleanse on the Community Accounts portfolio with the help of the retail branches.
  • Support and generate the monthly and year-end reporting for the Community Accounts portfolio.
  • Intake new prospects from Alterna's website and triage to the appropriate staff, branch, or department, supported by Account Manager, NFP & Affordable Housing when required.
  • Field all inquiries from the inbox and triage to the appropriate staff, branch, or department, supported by Account Manager, NFP & Affordable Housing when required.
  • Create the CHIP payment calculation reporting, and work closely with the Account Manager, NFP & Affordable Housing and Director, Community Impact & Financial Inclusion to review the payment calculation for presentations to Federations.
  • Participate in preparing presentations on formal banking proposals to Board of Directors and/or Senior Officer in the Community sector alongside Account Manager, NFP & Affordable Housing.
  • Problem solve service inquiries through ASK, Nonpersonal, and the Contact Centre when possible (supported by Account Manager, NFP & Affordable Housing).
  • Other duties and tasks to be determined at the discretion of the Director, Community Impact & Financial Inclusion.

Administrative duties related to the Community & Financial Inclusion Granting Programs and financial education under the Community Impact Department:

  • Act as liaison with the Marketing and Communications departments when possible surrounding required deliverables for Community Impact financial education.
  • Input all workshops and community engagements in the trackers (Community & Marketing calendars) and share results with the Community Impact team monthly and quarterly.
  • Administrative tasks related to coordinating Eventbrite pages and Mailchimp invitations for Community Impact financial education with support from the Marketing and Community Impact teams when needed.
  • Administrative tasks related to the Community & Financial Inclusion Granting Programs, including, but not limited to:
    • Emailing applicants
    • Letters to applicants
    • Tracking applicant information
    • Preparations for Committee meetings (presentation decks, scorecard calculations, inputting information into Committee shared drive, etc.)
  • Other duties and tasks to be determined at the discretion of the Director, Community Impact & Financial Inclusion.

  • Accurate and timely completion of all Community Accounts portfolio expectations.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all Community & Financial Inclusion Granting Programs assigned administrative tasks and duties.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline or 2 year related financial services experience.
  • Alterna's banking system an asset
  • Some knowledge of the nonprofit, charitable, co-operative, and affordable housing sector an asset.
  • Good Communication Skills- Oral and written.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Experience designing/creating and working with reports.
  • Experience with program administration an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of various computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
