Food and Beverage Manager Job Description:
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the main restaurant and in catering and event operations. They are responsible for supervising front of house staff and for reporting to the General Manager.
-Manage a team of front of house staff including scheduling, training, and general supervision.
-Work all packaged Events where dinner is served, while remaining hours are to be worked during unpackaged service (i.e., Restaurant service).
-Ensure all Events are executed correctly and in a timely manner.
-Oversee that all opening and closing duties of the outlets are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained.
-Responsible for daily deposits, and the correct operation of the POS systems.
-Upkeep/ maintenance of the POS systems.
-Balancing of all daily and nightly cash drawers and POS.
-Inventory and maintenance of par levels for front of house items and those used within Food and Beverage department.
-Providing excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees.
-Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in their area.
-Assist with catering and event function management.
-Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines.
-Work closely with the Back of House to provide a seamless experience.
-Will report directly to the General Manager.
-Responsible for quality assurance of products leaving their outlets.
The purpose of the Food and Beverage Manager is to assist the General Manager in all aspects of the main restaurant, catering and events. They provide a more detailed supervisory eye on the specifically Front of House operations.
Job Specification:
· 3+ years Food and Beverage management experience
· Currently seeking or completed bachelor’s degree in a Hospitality related field
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
· Organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail
· Knowledge of Microsoft applications including word and excel
· High standards of personal hygiene and personal appearances
· Ability to be on feet for several hours at a time
· Experience using POS systems preferred
· Smart Serve training required; Ontario Food Handlers Certification required
