The Health & Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting the Health and Safety department and is a key contributor in ensuring compliance with client requirements, and government legislation. This position will act as a focal point for all company HSE administration. The goal is to promote a positive safety culture throughout the company by demonstrating leadership and offering balanced safety solutions. This exciting opportunity calls for an experienced professional who is an organized and results oriented self starter with a commitment to safety. The successful candidate will need to be team focused and have administrative expertise to help support CEL in our continued growth objectives. This is a hands-on safety role that reports directly to the National Safety Manager.
Safety Administrator Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of the company HSE management program.
- Assist the Safety Manager with investigations and identifying risks.
- Basic administrative tasks (filing, emails, etc.)
- Help develop and update safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in acquiring and restocking PPE.
- Review documents related to safety and to recommend & implement solutions to safety issues.
- Reporting monthly stats internally and through client programs (ISN, Avetta, etc.)
- Facilitate Health & Safety Committee meetings and monthly safety meeting agendas.
- Perform safety orientations for new hires.
- Ability to go to work sites and support supervisors.
- Help with safety pre-qualifications, insurance requests and tracking safety certificates.
- Assist with annual COR Audits.
- Support Human Resource Manager when necessary.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in the field of Health and Safety or a combination of administrative duties and HSE.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Health & Safety Administrator (HSA) Designation is beneficial.
- COR Auditor Certification is beneficial.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Results oriented team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
