HR activities include staffing and on-boarding, records management, information reporting, and administrative support to the HR department.

TERM/STATUS: Temporary Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:30// 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE: $29.30 as per collective agreement
THE ROLE:
The Human Resources Assistant performs a wide range of administrative duties in support of the Human Resources department. Activities include creating and monitoring job postings; coordinating recruitment events; scheduling training; processing WorkSafe and EIP claims, monitoring leaves of absences; updating HRIS information and running reports; and providing general administrative support to the HR department
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum certificate or diploma in human Resources.
- Minimum one year experience in similar position or related duties.
- Proficient in MS Office and intranet applications; HR systems an asset; accurate typing skills of 60 wpm.
- Detail-oriented with accurate processing of data and ability to detect irregularities.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language.
- Ability to respond/communicate with public and staff in a positive, professional and courteous mature manner.
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidence.
- Experience with non-profit sector and mid-sized organization in a unionized environment.
Standard requirements of the Human Resources Assistant include:
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Demonstrated competency in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Eligible to work in Canada
