Human Resources Specialist

• Pay rate: $25 - $27 / hour
• Location: New Westminster, BC
• Shifts:  8 AM – 4 PM PST

• Revamp Health and Safety Department
• Help implement a new HR system
• Work with WorkSafe BC to ensure all health and safety rules are followed and implemented
• Perform general HR responsibilities
• Work closely with the Director to bring in new ideas and initiatives that continuously build and support our culture and programs
• Establish and maintain positive employee relations that reflect our people philosophy and policies
• Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal laws and regulations relating to employment standards, human rights, privacy legislation, and employment equity
• Coordinate disability claims with our benefits provider and assist with return-to-work plans for employees
• Maintain key documents or systems including the Employee Guide, Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Contractor Check and the Employment Equity submission
• Accurately manage and maintain the integrity of employee data, including organizational structure, transfers, promotions, and exits
• Assist with the analysis of P&C data, metrics, and information to foster business insights
• Participate in various people and culture initiatives including employee wellness, employee recognition, and diversity and inclusion

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related
• CPHR designation is required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role
• Willingness to assist in implementing HR and Health and Safety Systems
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Professional demeanor and attention to detail
• Reliable attendance
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
