Human Resources Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Specialist for our Belleville, ON location. This is an "in office" position that will report directly to the Human Resources Manager for Canada and will have a working relationship with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

We require post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field along with 2-3 years of support experience in HR. Preference given to those with a CHRP designation or proof of working towards the designation. Knowledge and experience with Canadian labour legislation, Human Rights, and payroll practices within a unionized environment an asset.

The ideal candidate likes a variety of work, is familiar with general principles in HR, enjoys administrative work and appreciates the importance of timeliness, accuracy and providing great customer service to our team members. Qualified applicants will be extremely detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as be part of a team; must be flexible and adaptable.

· 1-2 years involvement in the payroll process, or hands-on experience in financial analysis or auditing

· Prior experience with benefits or payroll is a plus

· Prior hands-on experience with HR systems is preferred (i.e. Workday, ADP payroll); ability to develop and run basic reports

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary with ability to build strong relationships with a diverse workforce
• Organized, attention to details, understands the importance of accuracy
• Strong work ethic and dedication to completing assigned tasks on a timely basis.
• Proficiency in MS Office and a demonstrated technical aptitude to learn other systems
