ComNav, a privately held marine autopilot and precision products manufacturer is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for the full cycle accounting up to and including financial statements preparation, human resources, and administration. Other responsibilities include AR, AP, costing, cash flow, budgeting, refunds, variance and financial analysis including:
· Accounts payable and accounts receivable functions;
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering, sorting documents and information.
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
- Reconciles revenue by verifying transaction information, charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Executes processes for collections on delinquent accounts; notifying customers
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
· Reconciles the general ledger accounts and prepares journal entries monthly.
· Month-end financial reports and annual insurance renewals for review and discussion.
· Prepares monthly bank reconciliations; monitors cash flow, ensuring metrics are maintained
· Prepares with year-end working papers, year-end financials and files monthly GST and PST returns
· Plans and executes annual budget process for review and discussion.
· Performs various financial analysis.
· Performs any other accounting duties as assigned by Controller, Vice-President or President.
· Human Resources and administration including payroll, benefits, vacation, sick leave, severance, employee files, and any other compliance required to meet employee policies, and regulations
· Administer with VP Operations, employee policies, standard operating procedures, code of conduct, and employee standards
· Lead to maintain a positive and productive work culture
· Administer with VP Operations and liase with external IT department and ERP software to maintain integrity, insurance, cross training, safety committee
Requirements:
· Advanced working knowledge of MS Dynamics / Great Plains accounting software
· Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience.
· 3-5 years recent related experience in full cycle of accounting including job costing and payroll.
· Proven experience taking responsibility for full-cycle accounting processes policies and systems.
· Strong financial acumen and analytical agility.
· Detail oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
· Self-motivated and results driven; prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
· Proven time management prioritization, project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
· Highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to build a positive, team-oriented environment.
· Demonstrated aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information; uses diplomacy and tact in all interactions.

Salary: $60,000.00-$73,000.00 per year
