Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Intermediate Accountant to join our team. The shifts are Monday - Friday. The wage range is $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Our Extended Health & Dental Benefits start after 3 months.

Including but not limited to the following:
- Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
- Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
- Store cash/till/gift card reconciliations
- Support Local Finance Rep's at our locations on cash, till, POS issues
- Prepare daily/monthly bank reconciliation
- Preparation/review of government remittances (GST, PST, Payroll)
- Assist in month end close procedures, including preparing month end entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain capital assets subledger, including continuity schedules and processing additions and disposals
- Liaise and support Accounts Payable, Receivable and other accounting staff as necessary
- Support the Controller in daily tasks and responsibilities
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Preparation of various Statistics Canada submissions for review
- Preparation/review of WCB
- Preparation of various Eco Fee remittances
- Ad hoc and special projects as necessary
- 2 to 3 years of full cycle accounting experience
- A BBA or B.Com. degree with an accounting focus
- High level of proficiency with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, V-Lookup, etc.)
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both written and verbal
- Experience with an ERP system (NAVision or Business Central) considered an asset
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Experience with SOX controls considered an asset
- High attention to detail
