GOODLIFE KIDS FOUNDATION- MOVE PROGRAM SPECIALIST
**This position is remote position in Canada**
GoodLife Kids Foundation (GLKF) is a national registered charity, with a purpose to enable and support kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities through physical activity and fitness. Our vision is that all kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities experience the joys and benefits of being active.

GoodLife Kids Foundation has been actively focused on physical and activity and fitness for kids and youth since 1998. Most notably:
  • Grant Program ran from 2008 to 2020. Over 500 grants have been given to community organizations across Canada, totaling almost $4 million, and impacting the lives of over 250,000 kids and youth through physical activity and fitness.
  • GoodLife 4 Kids School Program ran from 2015 to 2018 in elementary schools across Canada. The program was offered free for grade 6 classes and delivered by a program Coach – 65 programs with up to 5,000 students positively impacted over the duration of the program.
  • In 2018, GLKF moved to focus all efforts on providing physical activity and fitness opportunities for kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities.

The MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program (MOVE Program) was introduced virtually in November 2020. MOVE is a free physical activity program for youth ages 12 to 21 with autism and intellectual disabilities. The MOVE Program focuses on physical literacy and building a love for fitness, while adapting classes to fit the individual needs of participants in the class. We currently have
87classeswith over 300 youth across Canada regularly participating in MOVE - building confidence, social connections and healthy active lives. We are excited to be introducing in person programming in select locations across Canada, as the program continues to expand and reach more youth.
Who is a Move Program Specialist?
The MOVE Program Specialist will play an important part in the ability to offer more MOVE programs to more youth with autism and intellectual disabilities across Canada both virtually and in person. The MOVE Program Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the daily operations of the national MOVE by GoodLife Kids program to ensure a positive experience for all. This role manages ongoing monthly program schedule as well as events internally and externally. Through collaboration this role assists with identifying program needs to enhance program development, retention and sustainability.
What will you be doing?
Program Coordination
  • Coordinates and organizes all new and ongoing MOVE classes with the participant management platform.
  • Monitors and processes all new MOVE participants from registration to class assignment.
  • Monitors class attendance and participation and prepares reports for Program Director.
  • Manages all aspects of the MOVE Participant Reward Program
  • Coordinates and organizes Participant T-shirts orders with Program Manager.
  • Coordinates and executes the offboarding process for all MOVE Participants.
Program Events
  • Coordinates and prepares schedule for monthly “Try-it’ classes and other special classes for the program.
  • Coordinates all internal and external events (i.e., MOVE Summits, community events, photoshoots and MOVE presentations)
  • Creates and monitors events in business management software and provides data and reports to Program Director.
  • Follows-up with event attendees in order to provide further program information and connection.
Ambassador Program
  • Collaborates with Program Manager to develop the criteria for executing the MOVE Ambassador Program
  • Manages and facilitates recruitment and training of all MOVE Ambassadors
  • Develops and maintains an ongoing relationship with MOVE Ambassadors and caregivers.
  • Coordinates and organizes internal and external events for Ambassadors to participate in
  • Gathers feedback from MOVE Ambassadors and evaluates activities they participate in to determine success and changes required
  • Assists with program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in order to deliver an impactful national physical activity and fitness program
  • Consults and collaborates on improvement of operational policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the design and generation of internal program documents
  • Collaborates to ensure appropriate promotion of the MOVE program in order to reach more youth from across Canada.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Post-secondary education
  • 1-3 years in program/project coordination experience.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Proven communication, and time management skills
  • Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Comfortable using technology to simplify collaboration and problem solving
  • Highly collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others to support establishing and achieving collective goals.
  • Leadership ability with a passion for helping others
  • Passion for working with individuals with disabilities, specifically autism and intellectual disabilities.
  • A proactive, flexible, and adaptable mindset
  • Access to a space that can be used for online meetings (can be within own home) – space must be distraction-free and tidy
  • Access to reliable internet connection that supports uninterrupted video conferencing
  • Experience with relationship management platforms is an asset
  • Experience facilitating and delivering training is an asset
  • Physical fitness and sport program coordination experience is an asset
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $45,000-$60,000 CAD
