The Project Coordinator will provide a lead role in developing and maintaining a district-wide capital asset management for Maskwacis Education Schools Commission. This position is responsible for life cycle cost analysis and asset risk management to prioritize expenditures related to the replacement/rehabilitation of district assets and infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, establishing service levels and risk management practices for new and existing buildings and facilities. This position will also provide project management and support in the planning, developing, and implementing of the MESC capital assets.
Primary Responsibilities
Additional related duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop life-cycle management for capital assets in Ameresco for infrastructure, including buildings and building systems.
- Incorporate existing asset management processes, tools, and initiatives into a single corporate reporting structure and inventory system to be used for MESC school district.
- Coordinate and/or perform condition assessments of all MESC infrastructure assets on an ongoing basis.
- Work with various departments to estimate future costs for replacement, rehabilitation requirements for all assets using industry standard practices.
- Review, research, and report on technical specifications and standards related to infrastructure construction and maintenance to the Director of Facilities.
- Perform cost/benefit analysis and risk management analysis related to capital asset management.
- Assist the Director of Facilities with the preparation of a 5 and 10-year capital plan, utilizing information derived from the capital asset listing.
- Coordinate and manage annual budget assigned by the Director of Facilities
- Develop an annual operational plan and implement the plan
- Liaise, monitor and report all capital asset projects to regional funders as required.
- Coordinate project management services for all capital asset projects, create and lead, monitor project progress, set deadlines, solve issues that arise, manage money, and evaluate project performance.
- Coordinate risk management processes with the OH&S Coordinator for all facilities, external contractors, safety, environment, access and equipment.
- Coordinate facility projects with OH&S Coordinator
- Coordinate other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as required or assigned within the scope of the position.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and resource allocation
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in Engineering Technology, Asset Management, or an equivalent field, with a recognized designation.
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a municipal and/or civil-related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) / Prince II certification is a plus
Experience with Project Management software tools
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract.
