- Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the shipment of goods, products, or materials. This includes assigning the trailers, docks and ensuring that shipments are dispatched on time with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure an accurate log is kept at all times for all trailers on the property (includes trailers in doors, in the yard and third-party live loads and deliveries).
- They are responsible for preparing shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping labels, customs forms, and invoices, accurate and complete documentation is essential for compliance and tracking purposes.
- For US bound loads, ensure border documentation is accurate and sent to applicable agencies to ensure the product is authorized to cross the border.
- Provide direction to shipping forklift operators to ensure trailers are loaded correctly and in order of priority.
- Operate Bluejay system by entering dock in and dock out times for all outbound loads and continuous monitoring of messages.
- Coordinate internal freight movements and ensure applicable doors are used to utilize space and time travel guidelines.
- Assign forklift operators non-shipping duties as required.
- Must be flexible to work in the shipping office or drive a forklift (loading trucks and general warehouse duties).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Have minimum 2-year's prior experience operating a forklift.
- Have 1-2 year's experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Be able to read and understand operating procedure documents, health and safety documents etc.
- Be able to perform complex procedures and calculations, completing required documentation ensuring accuracy.
- Communicating effectively with co-workers including forklift operators and external drivers to convey accurate information.
- Be detail oriented.
- Demonstrate spirit of teamwork and collaboration with the flexibility to adapt to various tasks.
