About the Role
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join our Marketing & Insights team. The Social Media Manager supports the development of the OCS Social Media strategy and manages the implementation of the Social Media strategy, including the content calendar. The Social Media Manager executes in a variety of Social Media projects that span across various media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram).
In this role, you will leverage your understanding of the rules, regulations and requirements for posting on social platforms and your experience with developing and executing Social Media campaigns in order to manage the consistency of messaging across a variety Social Media platform. You will actively engage with consumer feedback and inquires in a timely manner and be the voice of the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS). In addition, you will provide regular comprehensive analytics and reporting on Social Media initiatives and provide thorough recommendations on how to further optimize posts.
About Your Day
- Develop and implement Social Media strategies that supports business objectives, new innovation, and the OCS overall brand identity
- Support plan development and manage execution campaigns for multiple projects that span across a variety of platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Assess the effectiveness of Social Media strategy and deliverables in order to make recommendations for both real-time and future improvements that best connect with active community
- Work within set budgets for each Social Media platform in order to execute goals and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Work alongside total Marketing team and other cross-functional teams (including Merchandising, Wholesale, Ecommerce and Social Responsibility) in order to contribute to campaign ideas & strategic planning sessions
- Manage OCS Social Media accounts and increase brand awareness, drive engagement, increase followers, grow website traffic, etc.
- Monitor and respond to comments or questions on social platforms in the OCS tone and voice in a timely manner
- Monitor OCS’s direct messaging inbox and respond appropriately
- Monitor and report on competitive Social Media activities and performance
- Develop, create and monitor benchmark data and KPIs that measure effectiveness of Social Media initiatives
- Ensure Social Media content aligns with the OCS identity, tone of voice and Social Media strategy
- Work cross-functionally to support in curating, writing, design and production
- Create and maintain Social Media calendars for company-wide visibility into upcoming social posts
- Keep up to date on the changing rules, regulations and requirements for each Social Media platform and share internally
- Completion of post-secondary education a related area of study OR equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary education
- 4+ years of experience working in digital marketing and/or related fields
- Experience developing and executing Social Media campaigns that are in alignment with broader marketing strategies and messaging across various media platforms
- Experience within cannabis and/or regulated industries is a strong asset
- Experience with UTM is a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and superb oral and written communication
- Excellent English-language writing skills
- Excellent analytic and strategic thinking skills
- Solid understanding of the Canadian media landscape, including influencers
- Ability to translate complex, detailed information into concise, compelling communication
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage last minute details, be versatile and flexible with competing demands
- Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent computer and software skills (e.g. MS Word, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint)
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to be diplomatic in the face of stressful situations
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
- This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. The current in office requirement is a minimum of 3 days/week (may be more depending on business needs). The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge St. However, OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.

The target hiring range for this position is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. This is a pay grade 6 role, with a salary range of $71,066.63 - $106,316.64. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
