The Food Bank of York Region is a regional food distribution hub for nonprofits within the nine municipalities of York Region. Our network serves almost 30,000 unique individuals per year.
We require a motivated individual to recruit, schedule and manage volunteers in our warehouse and special events and manage our data software. Link2Feed is a food bank intake system that is mandatory for all our community partners to upload the personal information of their clients. The data is used for programing, scheduling, sharing with other agencies and the public, annual reports and our report on hunger.

Applicants will be performing the following duties:
· Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, online)
· Supervise and manage volunteers, providing guidance and support.
· Collect information on availabilities and skills.
· Arrange for appropriate training of volunteers when needed.
· Produce volunteer schedules for everyday activities.
· Assign responsibilities to the right people for special events.
· Coordinate teams of volunteers for small and large-scale actions.
· Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed.
· Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events.
· Collaborate with the Warehouse and Logistics manager for assignments.
· Collaborate with the fundraising team to possibly turn assignments into fundraising opportunities.
· Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments, hours and impact.
· Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated.
· Keep resources up to date re: volunteer handbook etc.
· Schedule all volunteers in Signup.com.
· Create and email corporate clients a certificate of participation.
· Promote our food bank to corporate clients.
· Learn and become familiar with the Link2Feed software, inFlow and other data software.
· Retrieve data reports when requested.
· Be the administrator for Link2Feed. Provide customer service.
· Run and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on hunger and food donations.
· Calculate community partner percentages of total hunger counts.
· Provide quarterly, monthly and annual data for FBYR publications.
Applicants must demonstrate the following qualifications:
· Proven experience as a volunteer coordinator or similar position
· Experience in recruiting through various channels
· Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
· Able to communicate effectively with diverse people.
· Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
· Attention to detail.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
· A pleasant, outgoing personality.
· BSc/BA in business administration, human resources, social studies or relevant field will be appreciated.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Salary: From $23.00 per hour
